Recite Me accessibility toolbar

We have introduced the Recite Me toolbar to increase the accessibility of our website. We are currently the only major construction company embracing this kind of technology, helping to set the standard for inclusion within our industry.

Throughout this week, we are celebrating National Inclusion Week.

Becoming a more inclusive business means removing barriers that prevent people from engaging and contributing equally.

This includes making sure the information and data provided on our company website is accessible to as many people as possible.

Which is why, we have added an accessibility toolbar called Recite Me on our website.

We are the only major construction company currently embracing this kind of accessibility technology, helping set the standard for inclusion within our industry.

The Recite Me accessibility toolbar has been designed to provide access to online content to those with a range of disabilities and accessibility issues, including visual impairments, dyslexia, language and reading issues, colour blindness and other forms of neurodiversity, as well as those for whom English is a second language.

How does it work?

From now on you will see the word Accessibility in the top right hand corner of whichever page of our website you are on.

Clicking on the word will launch a toolbar which provides a range of tools that can help those who experience some of the issues above, allowing them to customise the site in a way that works for them.

The tools include:

  • Text for speech
  • The ability to change font and text size
  • Background, text and link colours
  • Ruler tools
  • Masking tools
  • Dictionary
  • Language translation
  • Text-only mode options
  • Audio MP3 download
